Hi, I'm François Lucas, founder of ETF Kitchen.

Why ETF Kitchen? The original idea behind ETF Kitchen was to find a way to independently manage my personal savings. This began my quest for the holy grail of investing, only to realize that competing with the likes of Warren Buffett was nothing but a pipe dream. I was so close to buying Berkshire shares and calling it a day until I stumbled upon Meb Faber's seminal paper.

Without knowing it, I had just entered the quant rabbit hole.

Since then, I have translated "Stocks on the Move" by Andreas Clenow (2014), organized the first Quantitative Conference in Vancouver (2016), and spoken at PyData Vancouver and Vancouver Algorithmic Trading. In 2019, I authored "Payday Anomaly Revisited" published by AlphaArchitect.

Originally from France, I now live in Canada with my wife and two sons. I hold a BEng from ESIEE in France, an MEngSc from the University of Surrey, and an MBA from UBC.

When I'm not refining my investment strategies, I'm drumming for Hotel Rumors, laying down drum tracks for various bands (details below), and practicing yoga, preferably when taught by my wife, Carine.

And of course, walks with my dog, Eddy.
